Introduction Talk (NL)
Training or Lecture
Price: Free
Especially suited for new rebels
General information
The science is clear: the Earth is warming, species are going extinct, biodiversity is being lost, pollution is reaching extreme levels, waters are becoming more acidic, and forests are being destroyed. Without action, we are heading towards a catastrophe. How can we deal with this frightening reality?
In the first part of this talk, we will provide an overview of the current state of the climate crisis and the biodiversity crisis. Everything will be underpinned by scientific insights. No prior knowledge is required.
In the second part, we will talk about Extinction Rebellion, a citizen movement that recognises the need for a different approach. What does Extinction Rebellion's want to achieve? How do we plan to achieve it? What values and principles guide us, and why do we believe this approach will succeed?
Practical information
Before and/or after the talk, you can enjoy a meal from De Sering's people's kitchen. These meals are 100% plant-based and are served based on donations ranging from €2.50 to €7.50. Additionally, there will be an action consultation hour from 8 PM to 9 PM, providing a space for you to ask any questions you may have. While registration is not mandatory, we would appreciate it if you could register via this link. This will help us to estimate the number of attendees.
