Wat is onze reactie op de ecologische tragedie waarmee de planeet wordt geconfronteerd? Is het
überhaupt mogelijk ethische keuzes te maken in een kapitalistische wereld? Kunnen we ons opnieuw
verbinden met de natuur en met elkaar? Waar halen we onze hoop voor de toekomst vandaan?
Wasteland is een verrassende voorstelling die klimaatverandering, de afbraak van de natuur, het verlies
van biodiversiteit en alle vragen die daarbij horen, bekijkt door de lens van de mythe van Parcival.
De vier artiesten van ‘Theater of Public Dreams’ hebben een achtergrond in mime, fools-werk, verhalen
vertellen en improvisatie. Met de lege ruimte als startplaats weven ze hun eigen persoonlijke verhalen
met het weefsel van de reis van Parcival door een ‘wasteland’. Elke voorstelling is uniek en een
geïmproviseerd weven van het persoonlijke met het mythische.
Na de show is er voor het publiek de gelegenheid om hun eigen verhalen rond dit thema met elkaar en de
spelers te delen.
Praktische informatie:
Aanmelding: is verplicht – doe dat hier.
Taal: afhankelijk van het publiek zal de voertaal Engels of Nederlands zijn.
Het fijn is als iedereen die wil erbij kan zijn. Daarom vragen we een bijdrage naar draagkracht voor de
door de toneelspelers gemaakte kosten. Richtbedrag: tussen € 2,50 en € 20,-.

What is our response to the ecological tragedy the planet is facing? Is it at all possible to make ethical
choices in a capitalist world? Can we reconnect with nature and each other? Where do we get our hope
for the future?
Wasteland is a surprising performance that looks at climate change, the breakdown of nature, the loss of
biodiversity and all the questions that come with it through the lens of the myth of Parcival.
The four performers of "Theater of Public Dreams" have backgrounds in mime, fools' work, storytelling
and improvisation. Using empty space as their starting point, they weave their own personal stories with
the fabric of Parcival's journey through a "wasteland”. Each performance is unique and an improvised
weaving of the personal with the mythical.
After the show, there is an opportunity for the audience to share their own stories around this theme with
each other and the players.
Practical information:
Registration is required - that can be done here.
Please note that depending on the audience, the language of performance will be English or
Dutch. It is nice if everyone who wants to can join. Therefore we ask for a contribution according to ability to pay
for the costs made by the actors. Suggested donation: between € 2.50 and € 20.
