Book Club #3 organized by XR Amsterdam - The Flowering Wand. Rewilding the Sacred Masculine ππ³πΈοΈππ (in English)
First gathering: Mon, 13. November 2023 at 19:30 online. For a total of three and a half months.
The patriarchal stories of 'the masculine' and the enactment of such has summoned a painful time of human and ecological separation. We know them: narratives of heroes with swords, kings waging wars to expand their kingdom, the heroβs journey. Narratives of the 'natural order' in which some humans believe that they have the right to dominate, exploit and conquer other humans, land, animals, oceans and nature.
This book club hopes to provide a little bit of balm for the wound. Sophie Strand (the author) invites us to leave this twisted perspective of the masculine behind and embrace alternative modes beyond the gender binary. We will explore how this can help us to find intimacy in ecology and rekindle our relationship with each other and the world.
